Background
Snoasis is a £350 million, 350 acre winter sports resort planned for Great Blakenham, Suffolk.
The brief
To devise, lead and administer a 'Suffolk for SnOasis' campaign, with the aim of lobbying local businesses and the general public into voicing their support for the project, in the run up to the local planning meeting
Our approach
Trebuchet organised and managed a SnOasis awareness event for local businesses. To build public support, we took SnOasis into the community by putting a model of the resort on display and welcoming and answering queries regarding the proposal.
The results
We mustered over 2,000 signatures of support and received over 300 emails from businesses, as well as 300 letters of support which were sent directly to the Suffolk planning office. We also acted as the local media spokesperson for the event and in doing so, received extensive front-page coverage and consistent media attention from all local media. SnOasis was successfully approved by the planning committee of Mid Suffolk District Council in April 2006..
